Elfenworks Foundation -
In Harmony With Local Industry

At The Elfenworks Foundation, we believe in the broad definition of 'fiduciary capitalism' - doing well by doing good. Where we can, we work with enlightened industry leaders who embrace that concept, building public / private partnerships with nonprofit groups who can benefit from their assistance.

In Harmony with
Boma Systems

boma

In an effort to protect students, faculty and administrators against crime, a worsening problem at the De Marillac Academy, The Elfenworks Foundation and Boma Systems are working in harmony to provide administrators, faculty and students with Push5 cell-phone security accounts free of charge. Participants can then use their cell phones to immediately dial for help when they feel threatened. After receiving help setting up their phones and groups, participants will be able to summon help quickly and quietly in a panic situation.Up to twelve people will be automatically dialed by the Boma system in a conference-call setting to decide how best to support the person who has asked for help. Boma is a name derived from the African barriers built from branches built to protect people from predators. Elfenworks and BomaIC are jointly underwiting the costs of this service to the Academy for two years, and studying the effects in an effort to understand and quantify the benefits to faculty, staff and students. The BomaIC company is also working on a 'win back the neighborhood' campaign to improve neighborhood safety in association with CrimeStoppers.
