Investing in Preservation
Preservation involves targeted conservation efforts which help to keep history alive for future generations. The Foundation's commitment in this area has meant providing support for certain museums as well as for nonprofits that are working to save California wildlife and habitats. Our focus on history and conservation help keep the spark of hope burning brightly.

The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum
The Carter CenterExpand...
In addition to having provided funding to the Carter Center's various initiatives, we were one of the key donors to the Carter Presidential Library and Museum's first major retrofit in 2009. Originally established in 1986, the museum houses 40,000,000 pages, 1,000,000 photographs, 2,200,000 feet of film, and 2,500 hours of video. The major overhaul upgraded the visitor experience with interactive learning opportunities, high-tech energy-saving lighting and an emphasis on education for the 21st century. Scores of visitors continue to learn about a key time in history, and the accomplishments of our 39th President and First Lady, through this museum.
